At the same time as the Conference of the Interior Ministers, the EAICY (European Association for Leisure Time Institutions of Children and Youth) executive committee also met in Leipzig. From 6.12.2017 to 08.12.2017 the representatives of NGOs of international child and youth work met in the Egidius Braun school to discuss central topics such as transnational research projects, to collect and exchange ideas. A central point was to expand the network of members. The present representatives from Lithuania, Czech Republic, France, Russia, Germany and Kazakhstan also got an insight into child and youth work during a house tour through the KOAS Kulturwerkstatt in Wasserstraße 18. Afterwards a city tour on the topic „Leipzig – a city in transition“ took place with insight into the transformation of the city. This tour was rounded off with a welcome by the employee of the Department for International Cooperation of the City of Leipzig, Mrs. Marusch-Krohn. After a guided tour through the new city hall, we went up to the tower of the city hall with a fantastic view over the city. Of course, a visit to the Leipzig Christmas market was also a must and so the EAICY Presidium was rounded off in a Christmassy atmosphere.
The next EAICY executive committee meeting will take place from 17.5.2018 – 20.05.2018 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
